Description

The Manta 42 MkIV is a product of the evolution of over 90 Manta’s sailing the oceans of the world today. The MkIV incorporates features developed from owner feedback with thousands of ocean miles sailed, over the past eight years. Each Manta is built to order, and offers the best quality/value ratio of any production catamaran in the world today. Manta Catamarans is one of the few manufacturers in the world to offer completely outfitted, turn-key yachts ready for serious ocean cruising. Traditionally in the industry, the outfitting process is accomplished by a third-party yard that has little or no understanding of the design or the bottom line. The Pac system offers equipment packages that are designed specifically for the Manta with attention to details commonly overlooked while giving consideration to space and weight distribution. The Pac’s are offered in several levels; however, individual equipment can be added or deleted to tailor the outfitting to the owners exact needs. The Pac’s make getting to the realistic bottom line for a fully outfitted yacht easy and tangible. Because Manta’s are built to order, each owner has the opportunity to personalize their Manta with a choice of interior finishes, colors, and customization that can not be offered with other production catamarans. Voted "Best Value" of any sailboat produced in the USA in Cruising World magazine's 2001 "Boat of the Year" competition, the Manta 42 MkIV continues to offer unparalleled value with a standard equipment list and attention to detail that exceeds most optional equipment lists. This excellent initial value combined with limited production affords Manta owners some of the best value retention in the industry.

| Remarks |
Following is a list of eighteen new things that will appear on the new MkIV: The new helm station area has been expanded to allow for larger electronics such as the E-120 Raymarine plotter. A new, upgraded helm seat with offset post will be added as standard. The galley counter is changing in shape and style to allow for a trash compactor. A seat will be added to the owner’s shower area. The starboard shower area has a new curtain rod instead of track to allow for more room, and the forward door is a laminate to eliminate the wraparound curtain. Isolation transformers will be standard instead of the surge protector (to add safety as well as electrolysis protection). A dual-anchor system with horizontal windless will be standard with the second anchor dropping through the fore/aft beam. New elliptical rudders have been designed for less drag and improved control. A new forward step integrated into the hull for ease of getting on and off the bow at docking will be added (similar to the PowerCat). A basic vertical windless will be standard equipment with the base boat. A new style of refrigerator rams has been added. These refrigerator rams are redesigned in a location for easier access to the refrigerator. The “Eisen” step (a cabin-entry step) will become standard in two heights. The TV door for flat screen TV’s will become standard. Both main cabins will have co-ax cable wired to them standard. The helm will have an intermittent “parallel switch” to tie in the house batteries for difficult start situations. We have increased the height of the rails by 2” to 30” for more stability. The hardtop has been redesigned slightly for more and better grab rails. Additional bookshelves on the port side are now standard as well |
